MANCHESTER UNITED BOSS REVEALS THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS HE WANT TO SIGN THIS SUMMER

Manchester United are yet to confirm Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as permanent manager despite making an instant impact at the club since his arrival in December 2018.

However, the Norwegian has taken time out to inform United board the key areas they need to strengthen in the summer.

According to a UK Metro report, the Old Trafford outfit has included Solskjaer in arrangements for next season in a move aimed at avoiding uncertainty over the tactician’s future at the club.

As such, the club is said to be consulting the 46-year-old on his opinion on the squad he inherited from Jose Mourinho.

Solskjaer has since held an informal discussion with the club’s chiefs to analyse the depth of the Red Devils’ current squad.

The former Molde FK boss is now understood to have asked the board to strengthen the right-back, left-back, right wing and attacking midfield.

Whereas they have the option of Luke Shaw in the left-back and Diogo Dalot in the right-back, Solskjaer is keen to provide cover for the prolific duo.

In the midfield, United still have the likes of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard, but the interim boss feels there is still need for an additional one.

The club is yet to address the right wing for five years, with Mourinho initially plotting a bid for Chelsea star Willian for the position.

However, Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has since emerged as a potential candidate for the position. It is believed that the club has resolved to offer Solskjaer a budget of around £200 million as summer transfer kitty.

Meanwhile, Continentour.com.ng had earlier reported that Rio Ferdinand has described Cristiano Ronaldo as a “living god” following his heroics in Juventus Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

The Bianconeri needed to overturn the two-goal deficit in the first leg suffered at the hands of Diego Simeone’s side at Wanda Metropolitano.
