The chairman of the Council of Elders of Non-Indigene Forum in Alimosho local government area of Lagos state, Lawrence Eze, has admonished the people of Lagos state to vote for the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Speaking at the general meeting of the forum, The Nation reports that Eze said APC has recorded landmark achievements since taking over the affairs of the state in 1999, thus deserved to be voted for in the March 9 election.
He noted that since the party has vowed to run an all-inclusive government in the local government, it would be vote for by the non-indigenes.
He said: “Sanwo-Olu has promised to build link bridges in Alimosho, therefore he needs our vote to deliver these promises.”
Corroborating the position of Eze is the Seriki Hausa, Alhaji Haruna, and Onu of Igala, Chief Anthony Ayegba. They also called the Hausa-Fulani and other non-indigenes in the community to vote the APC candidate, Sanwo-Olu, adding that “four years of continuation of APC is better than four years of trial and error.”
He said: ”Tomorrow’s election, as noted by the Ezendigbo, is about interests. And since the leadership of APC has concluded to involve the non-indigenes in their government more than before, we should therefore vote APC and work assiduously for a landslide victory of APC.”
Meanwhile, Continentour.com.ng previously reported that Solomon Ogbunna, the president Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos state chapter, on Tuesday, March 5, said the group would support the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governorship and state Assembly elections on Saturday, March 9.
Ogbunna told the newsmen that politics is all about interest, adding that Babajide Sanwo-Olu had demonstrated the desire to protect the Ndigbo interest, if elected as Lagos state governor.
