Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona joined Manchester United players in the dressing room to celebrate their Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.
The legendary manager and former striker were pictured along with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer celebrating the emphatic victory at Parc des Princes. United lost the first leg at Old Trafford by 2-0 but turned the tie around in their favour as they ran away with a 3-1.
In the immediate aftermath of the victory, United uploaded a video of a beaming Cantona in the stands.
He simply said: “I love it. I am so happy. I am so happy.” It is understood Cantona was greeted just inside the United dressing room by caretaker manager Solskjaer who was delighted.
The former French striker then shouted “Ole” before he embraced the Norwegian boss and then took a photo with Ferguson.
Solskjaer hailed the Red Devils’ performance after the game in a result that could earn him a permanent managerial contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
He said: “Fantastic. The belief in the boys was what we hoped for. The start was great and we set out to get the first goal, didn’t expect it after two minutes, but that made it more open for us.
“This club, this is what we do. That’s Man United. “There’s always some mental doubt, because they’ve (PSG) had those experiences. I’ve tried to calm everyone down and sit them down.
“Great atmosphere of course, it’s great to see the boss (Sir Alex) in there.” Solskjaer was asked the possibilities of being named permanent manager now, he said: “No, no, no. Not until the summer so let’s see what happens.”
Meanwhile, Continentour.com.ng had earlier reported that Manchester United fans celebrated their team’s historic achievement in the Champions League following win over PSG.
The United faithfuls through social media requested interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be given a permanent deal at Old Trafford.
