The voting process at the Akarabata ward 1 Units 1-12 in Osun state has turned violent as a woman, whose identity is yet unknown, was stabbed in a fight by another female.
The ugly development which took place at the Oranmiyan tower complex in the said area started after an argument over who was and who was not on the queue for the voting.
Channels TV reports that during the ensuing clash, the victim was stabbed in the face with a broken bottle by her attacker.
AIG Adeleye Oyebade, in charge of Zone 11 in Osun, commenting on the incident, said that the attacker has been arrested by police officers, adding that the situation has been contained already.
Meanwhile, Continentour.com.ng reported that there were gunshots in polling unit 14, ward 8 in Ubima, Rivers state.
Ubima is the hometown of Nigeria’s minister of transport and director-general of the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential campaign, Rotimi Amaechi.
Continentour.com.ng reporter in Ubima confirmed that the gunshots could be heard from Amaechi’s polling unit in the area.
A Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer in the area also sent out an SOS message to her colleagues on phone calling for security reinforcements. Soldiers have been deployed to the area to restore calm.
