Following the postponement of the general polls, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s flag bearer on Saturday, February 16, revealed that he will be in Abuja for crucial talks with some bigwigs in the party, Premium Times reports.
Speaking with newsmen in Jimeta, near Yola, the state capital of Adamawa, in the early hours of Saturday, Atiku expressed shock over the shift of the polls and announced that he will be on his way to Abuja.
Moreover, the PDP’s presidential candidate advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to quickly make efforts to ensure the safety of all its sensitive materials already dispatched to local units.
Atiku said: “As long as they are secure and they are in the right places, there is nothing to worry about.”
Earlier, Continentour.com.ng reported that Atiku had alleged that the postponement of the general election by INEC was “obviously a case of the hand of Esau but the voice of Jacob.”
Atiku blamed the postponement of the elections on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, saying the government had “more than enough time and money to prepare“.
